The British Columbia Student Film Festival is an event organized by film and media teachers around the province to recognize the exceptional student filmmakers and directors in BC. The BCSFF is a celebration of growing talent and is open to students from grades 8-12.

The festival has two parts: film competition + awards gala, and film-related workshops. The award-winning films will be screened at the awards gala. Films submitted to Film Freeway will be considered for the film competition. Please refer to our website for information on workshops, awards gala etc.

 

Nominations will be given for up to 5 films in each entry category. In addition, there are craft award nominations (ie. best director, best screenwriter), as well as best overall student filmmaker (junior and senior) nominees selected. The award-winning films will be screened at the awards gala, where students will also receive awards and prizes.
